Seltor project at every stage
Doktor Munks Park was a Seltor project in every aspect. The development company consisted of Seltor Bolig and Porsgrunn Bamble Borgestad Boligbyggelag (PBBL). Seltor AS was the contractor. Seltor's own architects also developed and designed the project together with the client.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held in 2012. The third and final stage of construction was completed in 2019.
Close to most things
The Dr. Munks Park site is centrally located in Hovenga in Porsgrunn, just a few minutes' walk from the town center, shops, schools, train station, activities and great hiking areas.
The blocks in the project fit in well between the small houses and the more traditional brick blocks that characterize the area. The main aim of Dr. Munks Park was to create a car-free and park-like area where residents could thrive both inside and outside.
Green outside, good inside
The outdoor area is green and lush with planting, trees, walkways and a playground. Red portals create a literal red thread through the project.
All apartments were west-facing with large balconies. It was important to achieve a good mix of apartment types that could suit a wide range of homebuyers. That goal can be said to have been achieved. The youngest buyer was only 19 years old and the oldest over 80.
