Construction has now started on the final stage of the Strandholmen project in Holmestrand.

Bane NOR Eiendom and Seltor Bolig have decided to start construction on the third and final phase of Strandholmen in Holmestrand. The residential project consists of 70 apartments divided into 3 construction stages. The property is located on the waterfront, a few meters from Holmestrand Station, and most of the apartments will have sea views.

The homes in stage 1 have now been taken over by the homebuyers, and stage 2 will be ready in the first quarter of 2024. The apartments in stage 3 were put up for sale in May, and by the end of August this last phase of construction had already sold enough units to start construction.

-"This project is proof that successful housing projects in the right location sell well," says Jacob Aas-Rynning, Project Manager at Bane NOR Eiendom, who adds that sales of new homes at train stations have remained more stable than sales elsewhere. " Success factors here have been the location by the sea, great views, proximity to the train station, walking distance to the city center and well thought-out floor plans," concludes Aas-Rynning.

-"The sales rate at Strandholmen has been steady and good ever since the first construction phase was launched in November 2021. We actually sold more homes in the period May-August this year compared to the same period last year," says Ingvild Linde, Sales and Marketing Manager at Seltor Bolig. Seltor is the contractor in the project, and Linde says that the construction process has progressed as planned.

Bård Johnson, project broker in DnB Eiendom, New Build

Bård Johnson, project broker at DnB Eiendom, Nybygg, is finding that more and more people from Oslo, Asker and Bærum are looking further south to find a home with a seaside location and a small-town feel. "Decisive factors include easy access to public transport, sea views, the possibility of a home office and a spacious balcony or patio. These are qualities that we can offer to a greater extent in projects outside Greater Oslo," he says.
